Lance, Scott & John Cunnane and their sister Nadine Di Iorio having been constructing homes and developing communities together since 1987. "We went from being the youngest people in the room at every meeting to being on the older end of the scale in a flash" said John Cunnane. "The idea of having a lot of promise and potential is exciting but the wisdom and experience that comes with 30 years of homebuilding is hard to beat. When you are young it's about 'you' but as you age it becomes more about 'the team'. Our superintendents, engineers, sales people, subcontractors, tradesmen, suppliers and office personnel have all grown over our long history together. Some of the contractors that work with us have been with us since the 1980s."
The Cunnanes are fourth generation builders and contractors. Their great grandfather, FP Maribelli, and grandfather, GJ Pacchiana, both established large infrastructure contracting firms in the New York Metropolitan Area. In the late 1970s their parents, John T. and Elaine Cunnane began development work on their first community in Briarcliff Manor, NY. They later formed Cunnane Development Corp., building luxury homes and developing communities in Westchester County, New York. In 1991, Lance, Scott, John and Nadine assumed control of Cunnane Development.
In 1996 the four principals relocated to Charlotte and started Cunnane Group, Inc. Cunnane Group has developed and constructed some of the most beloved communities in the Charlotte Metro including; Ardrey, Ardrey Commons, Burning Tree, Bonnie Briar, A new neighborhood in old Davidson, Springfield Villas and Antiquity Cornelius. Since 1996 Cunnane Group has constructed over 1,500 homes in the Carolinas in the Charlotte, Raleigh and Charleston markets. The company has been consistently listed among the 20 largest residential builders in Charlotte and remains one of the few locally owned and operated regional homebuilders.
Nadine Di Iorio said "I drive through the neighborhoods we constructed and get a sense that we created extremely charming places to live. I feel like we have contributed to the community in the best way we know how and that's homebuilding."
